List badges as you would certificates or trainings
When listing your badge, such as under Professional Development on a CV, include the badge name, the issuing body (in this case, “Indiana University – UITS Learning Technologies”), date you earned it, and a brief description of skills and knowledge the badge represents. You should be able to copy this from the badge Description. Assuming your CV is being shared electronically, you could also include the link to your validated badge.

Highlighting your badge in a narrative
Digital badges and microcredentials are still relatively new in academia, so consider explaining how the skills and knowledge represented by the badge have contributed to your professional growth. For documents such as a promotion and tenure dossier or faculty annual reports, a badge’s Earning Criteria will likely be more helpful than the Description for highlighting specific skills or competencies.

Further evidence of my commitment to improve teaching is my Learning Analytics for Student Success digital badge. In earning the badge, I implemented a plan to use Canvas analytics to distribute targeted student-support messages at key times during the semester. These support messages clearly outlined the behaviors and resources that would contribute to students’ success in the course. The results of this intervention were overwhelmingly positive; in addition to lowering the withdrawals, course evaluations improved, most notably regarding motivation and instructor availability.
